How much do the MAMA keepsake sweatshirts and hoodies cost? 

The crew neck sweatshirts and hoodies include an appliqué word (i.e. MAMA, DADDY, MUM, NANNY, a Date, love hearts or stars etc) across the chest. Applique is a sewing technique that involves stitching a small piece of fabric onto a larger one to make a pattern or design. 

There are then several upgrades or additional elements you can add to personalise your sweatshirt or hoodie further. Please see shop for detailed pricing.

A sweatshirt or hoodie can have up to 7 applique letters on the chest. The applique word is a maximum of 30cms wide, therefore ideally up to 5 letters fits well, but I would recommend no more than 7 in total, as the longer the word, the smaller the letters become.  

You can then add further embroidery on the chest with children’s names or ‘Est 2024’ etc. 

You can also choose to have the sleeve embroidered with up to 4 names or dates.

How much do the Memory Lions, Bears & Bunnies cost?

The Standard size Memory Keepsake Animals sit approximately 30cms tall and cost £99. The Large size Memory Keepsake Animals sit approximately 36cms tall and are priced at £119.

***Please note that Memory Animals are NOT toys. Due to the bespoke nature of the Memory Animals they are sold as keepsakes and NOT toys. They are sold for display purposes only and are not to be left unattended with any child under the age of 14 years old. ***

Can the Bears, Lions & Bunnies be weighted to the babies birth weight?

Yes the Memory Keepsake Animals can be weighted perfectly to your baby’s birth weight if you choose at an additional cost of £30.

Standard LION – up to 7lbs 8oz. 

Large LION – up to 10lbs 8oz.  

Standard BEAR – up to 8lbs 8oz. 

Large BEAR – up to 11lbs. 

Standard BUNNY – up to 8lbs 8oz. 

Large BUNNY – up to 11lbs.

Do the Memory Keepsake Animals include footpad embroidery?

Yes, the Bears, Bunnies & Lions all include embroidery on both front facing footpads with name, DOB and birth weight.

How much are the Memory Keepsake Blankets?

The blankets start at £69 and are made in 5 different sizes. Please see the shop page for further details on prices, sizes and number of items required. A beautifully embroidered square patch with birth details can be added at the cost of £5 if you choose.

How much is postage and packaging? 

All memory keepsakes are sent by 48hr tracked delivery to the UK only (Sorry, no NI or EU due to GPSR).    

Postage and packaging for each keepsake is calculated at the checkout per product.

Unused off-cuts of baby clothes material are returned with your keepsake.  

(Please note that if you send too many items of clothing, this may cost you additional postage to return the items that are not required).

How do I order a memory keepsake?

When should I post my clothes?

For Sweatshirts and Hoodies please send your clothes within 2 weeks of placing your order.

For Animals, Blankets and Christmas Sacks please send your clothes at least two weeks before the start of the month your keepsake is due to be made in, but you can post your clothes as soon as possible once placing your order if you like.

This allows me to keep to my very busy timeline, and if your clothes do not arrive on time unfortunately your order may be delayed and made at a later date when I have availability. If your clothes are going to be late arriving please contact me to let me know.

Please remember to include a note in with your clothes with your name and order number on, so I can match clothes to orders.

When will I receive my memory keepsake? 

All orders are taken via my website  www.stitchingmemories.co.uk/shop. Orders are dispatched from West Sussex, UK. Please see the green banner at the top of every page for the current estimated dispatch time. Please note this time frame is from the date I receive your clothes if applicable. I will then email you when I post your keepsake home to you with a tracking number. 

If you require your memory keepsake by a particular date, please email me and I will do my best to try to accommodate your request.

How many items of clothing should I send? 

Sweatshirts & Hoodies: You can either just send one item of clothing if you would like all your lettering to be made using the same piece, or you can send up to one item per letter if you would like them all to be different, or somewhere in between. The choice is yours but please put a note in with your clothes if you have a specific plan you would like me to stick to. If only sending one item, please ensure this is aged 3-6 months plus.  

Lion’s, Bears & Bunnies: The standard size Memory Keepsake Animals use about 6-10 baby grows or 1-2 items of adult clothing.

The large size Memory Keepsake Animals use about 8-10 baby grows or 1-2 items of adult clothing. Please note that if you are purchasing a large LION they require at least 2 items aged 6-9 months or older for the larger pattern pieces.

I can use up to 20 items if you would like a complete patchwork animal.

Blankets:

Lap Size: Approx 55x85cms (24 squares) requiring about 10-24 baby grows.
Cot Size: Approx 70x100cms (35 squares) requiring about 15-35 baby grows.
Cotbed Size: Approx 100x125cms (63 squares) requiring about 26-63 baby grows.
Single bed: Approx 125x180cms (117 squares) requiring about 50-117 baby grows.
Double bed: Approx 155x180cms (143 squares) requiring about 65-143 baby grows.

If you do not have enough clothes for the size blanket that you would like you can also send bedding, blankets, muslins, & sleeping bags etc.
Please note all blankets can be made using adults clothes too.

How are the blankets made?

Memory Keepsake Blankets made from your loved one’s precious clothing. These blankets are made up of 3 layers; the top layer is made from your loved ones clothes, a middle layer of 100% cotton batting for warmth, and then they are backed with a layer of very soft cuddle fleece in a colour of your choice. These blankets can also include an optional beautifully embroidered square patch with birth details on if you choose.

What fabrics can be used? 

I can use most fabrics, except for very loose knitted items, or very thick items such as leather, fur or thick denim. Standard denim and tightly knitted items are fine for memory keepsake animals, as the material is always backed with a cotton interfacing before being sewn together to ensure it keeps its shape. Many people have keepsakes made from baby clothes, or items such as baby blankets or bedding etc, but I can also use clothes from adult loved ones too, i.e. shirts or dresses etc. If you send an item that I think I will have particular difficulty in using, I will contact you to discuss your options.

How are the sweatshirts and hoodies made? 

The main word at the front of the sweatshirt is done using a technique called appliqué. Then you can have additional embroidery added to above or below the appliqué word, and/or to the sleeve.

What size are the sweatshirts and hoodies? 

The sweatshirts and hoodies range from sizes XS to 2XL. A limited range of colours also comes in 3XL – 5XL. Sizes are approximate and for guidance only. To gage the right size for you, I would suggest finding a sweatshirt or hoodie that you love wearing at home that fits comfortably. Then measure it across the chest, between the armpits (when laid flat) and match this to the chart below. If you would like an oversized look, consider going up a size or two.

What colours are the sweatshirts and hoodies available in? 

The sweatshirts come in a beautiful range of colours to suit all tastes. Please note that the colours may vary slightly from the chart due to differing monitor settings. Please see the chart below.

What are the sweatshirts and hoodies made from? 

Fabric weight: 280 gsm 

Material: 80% combed cotton / 20% polyester.  

Soft cotton-faced fabric. 

Stylish fit. Set-in sleeves and taped neck. 

Double fabric hood with self coloured drawcord (Hoodie). 

Front kangaroo pouch pocket (Hoodie).  

Ribbed cuffs and hem (Hoodie).  

Ribbed collar, cuffs and hem (Sweatshirt). 

Twin needle stitching. 

WRAP Certified Production, SEDEX and Vegan approved.

Can you work around stains? 

I am happy to receive items of clothing with small stains on them, as I can do my best to work around these, as we all know, babies are messy, but please wash all clothes before sending them to me.

Are the sweatshirts and hoodies washable? 

All sweatshirts and hoodies are washable at 30 degrees and are to be line dried. DO NOT tumble dry or dry clean. Then iron inside out and on low if required. DO NOT iron directly onto the embroidery design.

Are the Memory Keepsake Animals washable?

Memory Keepsake Animals are not suitable for hand or machine washing. They should be spot cleaned only by delicately wiping the surface with a damp cloth only.

Am I able to return the memory keepsake? 

Due to the bespoke and personalised nature of all the memory keepsakes, unfortunately they are non-returnable or refundable. For further information, please see the Refunds and Returns Policy.
